Job Description
Aircraft Appearance Team Leader  150000PV 
Job Purpose

 Plan, organise and control the cleaning/washing service to all operating airlines and a thorough cleaning/washing service to customer aircrafts by co-ordinating and supervising a team of cleaners on a shift basis.
Accountabilities:

  • Organises and supervises a team of cleaners for providing the aircraft cleaning/washing service to airlines operating through Dubai International airport; based on contractual or adhoc requirements
  • Plans the distribution of tasks and equipment requirements in order to effectively complete the aircraft appearance activity within the stipulated time so as to meet the airline requirements for turning around an aircraft. 
  • Conducts comprehensive safety briefings and allocates the tasks individually to all team members as well as ensures that tasks are carried out systematically; in a safe manner and to the required standards.
  • Ensures that the correct chemicals and cleaning/washing materials are used; mixed to the right proportion and safety procedures are followed in order to prevent any damage to the aircraft or injury to the staff.
  • Ensures all members of the team follow the relevant Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. Any non-compliance to the Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures must be addressed at the first instance and corrective action taken instantly.

Specific to washing:

  • Performs a walk around the aircraft prior to start of the wash to ensure all static ports are covered; the Pitot Tube covers are placed and the aircraft has no visible damage. Ensures all non-relevant or essential GSE equipment are disconnected and moved away from the aircraft.
  • Carries out checks at the completion of washes and ensures that the services are met as agreed with the airline and there has been no damage to the aircraft as a result of any washing related activities.
  • Reports to the shift Officer in case of any disparities/damages before and during the washing of the aircraft. Ensures that the engineer/airline representative in charge is notified and washing commenced post investigation and clearance obtained.

Cabin cleaning:

  • Ensures headset containers; magazines; landing cards; 3pin headsets for First class etc. are loaded to the aircraft before departure.
  • Carries out a final check at the completion of cleaning service and ensures that the service standards are met; obtaining a cabin appearance acceptance signature from the purser in-charge/steward of the aircraft/Ground Engineers.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • 3+ years experience in aircraft appearance activities including 1 year’s expereince in leading a team
  • 10 Years schooling or “O” level equivalent
  • Knowledge of aircraft standard cleaning procedures
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals properties as its used on aircraft parts
  • Knowledge of aircraft terminaology
  • UAE drivers licence preferable manual
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Commited to safety
