The Business Unit Manager – Business Applications has to ensure the business applications practice remains financially sustainable while delivering good customer service. Makes key sales decisions and oversees day-to-day sales operations. Works to expand business applications practice to make it more profitable and better meet the needs of the regional customers. This position operates within the context of increasing sales revenue. It is therefore very important to put in place a framework and resources for quality engagement with customers and gaining their confidence and continual business.
This role will be responsible for strategy building in the area of business applications. Preparation of the business plan for the practice in conjunction with all the key stakeholders, including the go-to-market strategy. Ownership of the revenue & margin numbers for the practice. Building partnerships & alliances for the growth of the practice. Creating new business opportunities & spearheading new business wins (revenue and order value). Creating the complete set of service offerings in business applications segments & socializing these with all the key stakeholders including sales, delivery, customers and new prospects. Creating differentiated services and solutions including IPs for the entire practice. Recruitment & development of the core sales team. Identify training/certification requirements and proactively request trainings. Ongoing support to sales. Inputs to program management, project management & overall project governance.
This role will report to the Head of Sales – Al Futtaim Technologies and will be based out of Dubai, U.A.E.
To be a successful in this role, you should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Masters in Business Administration is a plus. Minimum of 10+ years of previous relevant experience in business application / IT software space. Proven track-record in building a business application practice. Good network in the industry, product companies, consultant circle and influencers. Prior exposures of retail, manufacturing & construction verticals. In terms of domain technical kinowledge & experience, have extensive experience in the areas of – Microsoft Dynamics Ax / CRM / GP / Nav, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Share Point.
The Business Unit Manager – Business Applications will have to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, be customer focused and be able to handle multiple and often conflicting priorities. It is essential the incumbent should have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment. Have the ability to look at situations from several points of view. Delegate responsibilities effectively. Should have a high comfort level working in a diverse environment. Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done. Manage cross-functional relationships effectively.
