Job Description:

Carries out a variety of security functions. Includes checking personnel, vehicles, equipment and materials at assigned post, ensuring safety loading and unloading of baggage and cargo and keeping constant watch on various KAC locations, facilities, premises, parking areas, etc, and operating telex, fax, SITA machines and P.C.
Tasks and Duties:
Checks incoming and outgoing personnel, vehicles, equipment and materials at assigned entrance ensuring conformity with established pass procedures. Includes ensuring that authorised personnel carry the appropriate identification cards, checking hand baggage and vehicles for forbidden articles, preventing unauthorised persons from entering and reporting any suspicious situation, material or incident to supervisor for further action.
Watches and checks cars at assigned parking areas, within Corporation’s borders, ensuring adherence to traffic regulations to maintain orderly flow and proper safeguarding of such cars and calling police in case of any accident or presence of unauthorised persons.
Attends at points of arrival and departure of passengers and/or cargo aircraft’s to ensure safe handling and identification of baggage and cargo.
Escorts valuable cargo between aircraft and cargo strong room. Attends releasing of cargo from strong room and loading into container ensuring that container is properly closed and sealed, escorting cargo to aircraft and ensuring its loading.
Keeps constant watch on various KAC locations, facilities and premises are assigned, ensuring that doors, windows, gates and fences are secured and calling fire brigade in case of fire.
Participates in the airport tarmac and various airport lounges security activities, as assigned. Includes, ensuring safe loading, unloading, and safekeeping of ground equipment under the aircraft, preventing un-authorised persons from entering KAC properties at airport, reporting any suspicious situation to supervisor, assisting transit passengers as appropriate, etc.
Liaises, as directed, with concerned personnel in Civil Aviation Authority, Airport Security, Government Intelligence and security agencies, etc. for providing and receiving a variety of data and information related to the security of KAC operations, properties and personnel.
Operates telex and SITA machines to send and receive security-related messages for Kuwait base and outstations. Includes turning on machines and typing identifying codes for stations called or acknowledges calls from other stations.
Reads incoming messages to detect errors and presses lever to stop transmission when messages are garbled or overlined, and forwards messages to official concerned.
Types outgoing messages directly or on tape attachment and transmits them by inserting typed sheets or tapes into machine when stations concerned are connected.
Records and registers all incoming and outgoing messages during shift in special files for ease of reference as required.
Follows up seat reservations for security officers on KAC flights, including additions, amendments and cancellation of such reservations, as required.
Performs routine maintenance on the assigned machine such as changing ink tapes, paper rolls, etc. Reports serious mechanical and/or electrical failures to arrange for necessary repairs.
Carries out other similar or related duties such as regulating vehicle and pedestrian traffic at assigned entrance, operating mechanized/manual gates as required, directing visitors to reception, typing requests for clarification, distributing urgent messages to addresses, maintaining telex, fax, and SITA directions for easy identification of codes, keeping machines clean and in good operating condition, etc.

Requirement:

Completion of Secondary (12 years) education plus security Training specialized course.
Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
