Position Overview:
There is a need for an energetic and versatile Project Engineer to support Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire and Life Safety Projects at existing airport facilities in Doha.  Candidate will be responsible to oversee the assessment and verification of existing conditions of MEP and Fire Life Safety Systems at existing airport terminals and assist the team in determining the necessary upgrades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, engineering and construction of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems including structural components modification and installation of fire detection, suppression equipment, alarm systems and fire extinguishing devices.
  • Assist Project Manager in the planning, evaluation and execution of the project within budget and delivery schedule.
  • Liaise with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Special Systems Staff to ensure effective implementation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems internal to project facilities.
  • Track and monitor daily/weekly/monthly progress of work.
  • Manage variations and change orders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years related experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection engineering for facilities, life safety assurance and code compliance for fire prevention.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in leadership role at the airport facility projects.
  • Knowledge of international standards, codes and regulations.
  • NFPA and OSHA certified.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • International experience is preferred; knowledge of common project delivery methods and knowledge of Middle East practices are also preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work productively and efficiently within a large team environment.
