Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

Studies traffic engineering problem
-
Conducts traffic operation analysis and ITS

Design & maintain safe roads & highways
-
Design & maintain safe traffic control and flow

Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.

Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
-
Engineering degree. Advanced degree in ITS highly desirable.

12 – 15 years traffic engineering with special focus on ITS.

Knowledge of traffic analysis tools such as SYNCHRO, VISUM, VISSUM, VISSIM, HCS, CORSIM and other traffic engineering software.

Proven ability to perform in a technical capacity.

Good written and oral communication.

Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
