Job Purpose

 

Positions range from Junior Technical Assistant to Senior Technical Assistant.
  
We are seeking Technical Assistants to carry out denting, sheet metal works, welding, fabrication and repairs for all ground support equipment, ULDs and vehicles of EK/dnata and 3rd party airlines/companies in order to deliver a quality service for the availability of equipment for 24/7 Airside Operations.
  
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
  • Carrying out repairs and rebuilding of all damaged ground support equipment and/or ULD’s without any time delay in order to minimise downtime of equipment.
  • Inspecting all ground support equipment and/or ULD’s being worked on and report any other faults, damages to the supervisor/officer in order to plan for any predictive works.
  • Following the general workshop safety procedures in order to prevent personal injuries or ground support equipment and/or ULD’s damages during the maintenance works.
  • Recording on the individual equipment work order all maintenance/rebuild works carried out by the job holder in order to inform the supervisor/officer on the maintenance progress.
  • Informing the Supervisors/Officers of any spare parts & tools and that are needed to ensure timely completion of any maintenance works.
 
Qualifications & Experience

 

Qualification:
  • Must have 10 years schooling or ‘O’ level equivalent.
  • In addition to the above, must have accumulative of minimum 2 years of Technical Education (Technical Degree, Diploma or Trade Certificate) from a reputable Training Institution in Fabrication, Welding or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • Must have minimum 2 years experience in a large sheet metal workshop as a metal worker.
  • Ability to repair, reshape any type of accident damage of the body and other components.
  • Knowledge of materials and sheet metal works.
  • Knowledge of fabrication any type of job with available diagram and blue prints.
  • Theory and practical knowledge of arc welding and gas welding processes and their safety hazards etc.
  • Proven ability to communicate in English (Verbal & written).
 Depending on the vacancy, one or more of the following would be an added advantage:
  • A valid UAE driving licence would be an advantage
  • Training on First Aid, Safety and firefighting at workplace
