Job Description
About the role:Responsible to lead a team of junior staff and offer operational and administrational support to the Uniform Service Centre staff providing smooth and customer-focused services while ensuring compliance to policies and maintaining transparency for records and issuance of returns. Responsible to ensure that administrative duties are completed and followed upon and all requests received by the Uniform Service Centre are completed on time. Will also prepare reports, provide system updates and assist with manpower and resource planning requirements.
Key Accountabilites:Operational

  • Interface with internal customers, including senior management and suppliers on Uniform issuances.
  • Responsible to generate statistical and logistical information with reference to uniform issuance.
  • Ensure that priority examination and inspection of material is performed in order to maintain high quality standards as set by the department.
  • Provide suggestions and propose ideas to the Uniform Specialist on simplifying work processes especially ensuring exemplary services are provided to internal customers, managers, suppliers.
  • Organise multiple uniform related projects such as Uniform stock inventory, Department budget, Purchase order forecast and Vendor selection and scouting by prioritising them according to departmental requirements and Company strategy, ensure all financial and operational aspects are considered prior to requesting approvals.
  • Interact with other departments such as Cabin Crew Recruitment, Image and Style, Finance, Product Development, Procurement and collaborate with other stakeholder departments to on uniform related projects such as fabric and accessory vendors, uniform quality issues, tailors induction to Qatar airways uniform standards and purchase order forecast based on the information exchanged.
  • Liaise with the Image and Style department with regards to the uniform fit and appearance regulations and expectations and organise appropriate trainings to ensure accurate and formal exchange of information.
  • Liaise with the Tailors in order to provide correct instructions and expectations of the uniforms stitching, length, fittings and appropriate use of Qatar Airways logos on the uniforms and accessory.
  • Ensure that all uniforms are issued as per the company uniform policy for entitlements and payroll purchases.
  • Support Qatar Airways staff upon issuance and guide them with the appropriate alterations and size requirements during uniform fittings and ensure compliance to the set standard of uniform.
  • Lead the Uniform Service Centre junior staff team and guide them with day-to-day activities especially trouble points and situations that may require intervention in order to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Act as a delegate during absence of the Uniform Specialist and provide all assistance to required stakeholders as needed.
  • Follow-up and provide information to technical aspects and required documentation, including coordination with stakeholder departments.
  • Provide administration services such as computing and calculating overtime claims.
  • Supervise and enforce loss prevention (theft / wastage) of uniform items.
  • Ensure all uniforms items issued to Qatar airways staff in Doha and Outstation is as per the set standards in terms of quality, fittings, fabrics, trims and stitching.

Management and Leadership

  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Administrate annual leave plan and other HR-related requests (GEMS).
  • Update and maintain employee records (timesheets, training records, leave application, security passes) and other relevant information as required by the Line Manager.
  • Coordinate and organise the induction of new joiners into the department by ensuring proper introduction and education is provided to the new joiner in terms of job role expectation and departmental requirements.


  • Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise
  • Train and develop other employees for proper succession planning and risk management
  • Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its Subsidiaries, including the support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Programme
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management. Undertake various projects as directed by Uniform Specialist.

Operational Safety

  • Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate supervision in their workplace.
  • Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.


About You:Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent


Previous Experience:


  • Experienced – minimum 4 years of job-related experience required
  • Airline, Retail, Hotel, Travel and Tourism experience.
  • Experience in Customer Service.Preferred
  • Experience in Retail Operations and Fashion Merchandising will be an added advantage
